US Stocks to watch
PHM
The price behavior of PHM – PulteGroup, Inc. – could serve as an example of neat bullish trend.
The stock has been moving nicely above its 10-day exponential moving average and the upper Bollinger Band in a low-volatility movement.
Of course PHM’s 20- and 50-day exponential moving averages are also sloping up as momentum keeps its strength.
A relative weakness, though, has lately made MACD move below its signal line for a very short time. In fact, it has already moved Bollinger Band as momentum regained its strength.
Just as important, PHM’s Relative Strength has been mostly up and above its 20-day exponential moving average since early August.
CDW
Since March, CDW – CDW Corp – has been moving in a channel we show in blue lines in the chart. Price moves in a relatively low volatility regime and its 50-day exponential moving average is usually its resistance line.
Price is currently in the upper part of the channel and has bounced off after having touched its 20-day exponential moving average.
This bounce-off has also been marked in MACD. Our momentum indicator has been mostly in positive territory throughout this uptrend and has just turned up and away from its signal line.
Finally, CDW’s Relative Strength has been moving up and mostly above its 20-day exponential moving average since early February.
CSM
It’s obvious from the chart that CSM – CSM Energy Corp. – has been trending up since February. In fact, price has touched its 50-day exponential moving average only twice.
Throughout this period CSM’s MACD is mostly in positive territory as bullish momentum is usually strong.
CSM is currently through a minor correction phase. Price dropped from the upper Bollinger Band to its 10-day exponential moving average, where it started bouncing up toward the upper Bollinger Band again. Wh mark this phase in the blue eclipses.
In this phase MACD itself dropped to its signal line and has turned up again as soon as the bounce started.
Finally, CSM’s Relative Strength is currently moving up and well above its 20-day exponential moving average.
